ANSWERING YOUR ENQUIRIES ABOUT VISITING YEPPOON PODIATRY

CLICK ON EACH QUESTION FOR THE ANSWER TO APPEAR:

DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO VISIT YEPPOON PODIATRY?

No, a referral is not required. However, we do accept referrals from local GPs and health professionals. Some eligible patients are referred by their GP under a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan.

WHAT IF I HAVE A CARE PLAN FROM MY GP?

Eligible patients who are referred by their GP under a Care Plan (EPC) will be bulk-billed at Yeppoon Podiatry. Your GP/Health Plan Nurse will usually send the referral to us and we will make the appointment for you. Please bring your Medicare Card along to your appointment. Bulk-billing is done at the time of your appointment, so you don’t have to make a trip to Medicare – it’s all done on-the-spot!

HOW LONG WILL MY INITIAL APPOINTMENT BE?

Most appointments take approximately 30 minutes. Some appointments, for example ingrown toenail surgery, will take longer and we will advise you of this at the time of making the appointment. If you can, please arrive five minutes prior to your appointment so you can complete the necessary patient information forms.

SHOULD I BRING ANYTHING TO MY APPOINTMENT?

If you can, bring in with you your most frequently worn shoes.

CAN I USE MY PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE FOR PODIATRY?

If you have Podiatry cover with your private health fund, you are able to claim your benefit on-the-spot at Yeppoon Podiatry.  We use the latest claiming technology, TYRO (similar to HICAPS) – your private health fund card is swiped and any benefit will be assigned immediately. Any gap fee can then be paid by cash, EFTPOS or credit card.

DO YOU DO HOME VISITS?

Yes!  For people who have mobility issues and find it difficult to attend the clinic, we are happy to provide home visits.  Please feel free to phone the clinic on 4939 3443 to discuss this further.
